CBD FAQs
Many of the beneficial compounds, such as cannabinol (CBN) and cannabigerol (CBG), add to the wholesome properties of CBD oil.
The main difference between broad and full spectrum is that broad spectrum is entirely free of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – all other cannabinoid molecules remain except for THC.
By still keeping all other elements and cannabinoids minus THC, broad spectrum CBD is also useful for the “entourage effect.”
Many of the beneficial compounds, such as cannabinol (CBN) and cannabigerol (CBG), add to the wholesome properties of CBD oil.
The main difference between broad and full spectrum is that full spectrum is not entirely free of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – and contains all cannabinoid molecules.
It is widely understood that Full-Spectrum CBD includes trace amounts of THC (0.3% or less). This is also known to be useful for the “entourage effect” which could possibly provide more benefits than broad spectrum CBD.
Hemp extract is a concentration of all components of the hemp plant’s leaves, flowers, and stems. This extract includes cannabinoids, terpenes, plant sterols, fatty acids, flavonoids, and essential vitamins and nutrients. This liquid extract can be refined to contain only certain compounds from the plant.

No. Hemp-derived CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid.
The entourage effect is the synergistic relationship of the naturally occurring compounds found in hemp plants. The cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in hemp have shown to work better when they are taken together as opposed to in isolation from each other.
The endocannabinoid system is the collection of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids, and enzymes involved in the production and break down of endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are naturally occurring cannabinoids found within our body.
The two most studied endocannabinoids are anandamide and 2-AG. The two most studied cannabinoid receptors are CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are located mostly in the brain and CB2 receptors are located mostly throughout the immune system.

This will vary for each individual because CBD capsules are swallowed and therefore must go through the digestive system, some may need a longer timeframe to experience results. However, we advise taking CBD daily for at least 30 days to assess its full effects, since it can take time to build up in the body.
Our CBD product development process all happens in the USA, where our hemp is grown using organic farming methods. Each plant gets the maximum TLC- using the most sustainable farming methods and grown without the use of any pesticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides.
Once the hemp is fully grown and ready for harvest, it is taken to the lab where the extraction process begins. For our MelaMed products, we use a cutting edge CO2 extraction method that produces the cleanest CBD oil that is free of impurities, while keeping precious minor cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids intact. Taxonomically, hemp and marijuana are the same plant, with a genus and species name of Cannabis sativa L. They have a drastically different genetic profile though.
Industrial hemp is its own ‘variety’ of Cannabis sativa L. (the word ‘strain’ is not applicable), while marijuana can exist as Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis. The major difference is how industrial hemp has been bred compared to a marijuana form of Cannabis sativa.
Typically speaking, industrial hemp is very fibrous, with long strong stalks, and has few flowering buds. Marijuana forms of Cannabis sativa are typically smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds. However, some industrial hemp varieties in the USA are being bred to have more flowers and higher yields of phytocannabinoids and terpenes, such as the hemp used to make MelaMed Wellness products.
Generally speaking, marijuana has higher amounts of THC than Hemp. Hemp, on the other hand, has a high amount of CBD in most instances, and only trace amounts of THC.
Fortunately, the cannabinoid profile of hemp is ideal for people looking for benefits from the plant without the ‘high.’ Hemp does NOT have the psychoactive effects that you get from Marijuana.
Hemp has been used historically to make food, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and so much more.
The term ‘CBD oil’ refers to hemp-derived oil with THC levels below 0.3%. MelaMed sources all of our CBD products using only the highest quality hemp.

Typically, a cool, dark pantry is the best place to store your precious CBD products. The back of a pantry allows for a consistently cool temperature that isn’t exposed to excess light. Please Keep Out of Reach of Children.
